Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Phil Taylor plans on listening to linebacker D’Qwell Jackson and not rush coming back this season after tearing his left pectoral muscle this offseason.

“I’m itching to get back, but I’m not going to rush it,” Taylor said.

Taylor believes that the guys behind him will do fine.

“We won’t miss a beat,” Taylor said. “(Scott) Paxson’s right behind me. He’s a great guy. He’s gonna be good.” Taylor also said that (John) Hughes and (Billy) Winn “are gonna play a lot this year.”

PFT Puts Browns Dead Last in Initial Power Rankings

Pre-season power rankings aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. Much like initial draft grades, they’re an excuse to talk about things, but rarely do they have much validity as the first few names are populating IR lists in fantasy football. Be that as it may, the Browns have been placed dead last on PFT’s power rankings. Last year, the Browns were the only members of the...

Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy just needs a fair chance

Can we at least give Colt McCoy a chance to battle Seneca Wallace in training camp for the backup position? Mike Holmgrem has stated that Colt McCoy was never really given a fair chance to be the starting quarterback last year. So in return, they decide to put him on the trading block? You don’t just get rid of a guy who was not given a fair chance, especially when that guy lives...

Supplemental needs: Browns interested in Baylor’s Josh Gordon

With Thursday’s supplemental draft approaching, a name that has been floated around in a lot of circles is Baylor’s Josh Gordon, and the Browns are definitely interested. Problem is, so is everyone else. Gordon, 6-4, 220 lbs, is expected to go as high as the 2nd round, but probably no past the fourth. That means the Browns might have to bid the 2nd rounder if they have strong...

Browns '12 offensive line could be a strength

As the Browns prepare to embark upon their second season under Pat Shurmur there are many questions that remain. With training camp opening Sat. July 28, were going to take a position-by-position analysis of the current roster as the team heads to camp over the next few weeks. Part five we look at the offensive line. Candidates: Joe Thomas, Shawn Lauvao, Alex Mack, Jason Pinkston...

Cleveland Browns: Bumbling Mishandlers of Quarterback Development

I'm not going to lie, and I'm not going to mince words. I am completely fed up with the Cleveland Browns and really ready to write them off for good. Sure, I'm a Bengals fan to begin with, but living in Cleveland for so long, I've developed a fan's interest in the Browns, and I thoroughly enjoy talking with other Browns fans regarding this team. Most of the time...

Cleveland Browns to attend WR Josh Gordon’s pro day

Trent Richardson Spotted Out With Jamie Foxx on Running Back's 21st Birthday (Video)

Trent Richardson turned 21 on Tuesday. What better way to celebrate the occasion than tear it up with actor Jamie Foxx? Ok, so it's definitely a bit surprising to see the Browns' new running back rubbing elbows with Foxx, but when you're a Heisman Trophy finalist and a third overall pick, hanging with Oscar winners comes with the territory. Richardson and Foxx were spotted...

Pro Football Talk Pre-Season Rankings: Browns Worst in the NFL

Which isn’t too interesting, or surprising, given the Vegas sportsbooks’ market-based expectations for the 2012 Browns. But it does give us another excuse to entertain the idea, frequently floated in the comments sections of pre-season rankings posts like the one at Pro Football Talk, that the Browns won’t be as bad as the experts think. To this end, we’ve prepared a pair...

Adrian Peterson takes to Twitter: “truth will surface”

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson set out a few tweets regarding his arrest at a Houston nightclub, telling his fans “Thank you for waiting for the facts,” [the] “truth will surface.” He also used a quote that LB Scott Fujita used recently, saying, “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” var switchTo5x=true...
