The veteran-laden Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in the midst of cap struggles once again, and they are not expected to retain free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace. While Wallace may not be returning to the Steelers, he could remain in the AFC North, as the team believes the Cleveland Browns are the playmaker’s most likely landing spot, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. The Steelers face several cap decisions, making it likely that they are forced to part ways with several veterans such as Wallace. The fourth-year pro is reportedly seeking a contract in the range of Vincent Jackson’s five-year, $55 million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If Wallace doesn’t re-sign with the Steelers, the Browns are expected to use their significant cap space in an effort to lure him to Cleveland. The Browns will likely be big spenders this offseason, and Wallace could be their top target. Wallace has averaged more than 1,000 receiving yards per season since joining the NFL. Last season he caught 64 passes for 836 yards and eight touchdowns.
