Found August 19, 2012 on Fantasy Football SPIN:
Trent Richardson is reportedly ahead of schedule in recovering from his second knee surgery since February. What is most concerning is that it's on the same knee, the left knee, that Richards had operated on in February. He hasn't played a game as a pro yet and he already has a problem knee. He's not going to play in any preseason games but the Browns have not ruled out a week 1 return.

Trent Richardson progressing well in rehab

Trent Richardson disappointed some fantasy owners that drafted early when it became known that the first year player from Alabama would require surgery on his injured left knee. Those owners may not miss too much time from their early round draft pick, as it appears Richardson may be back sooner than first thought. According to a report by beat writer Nate Ulrich on twitter, head...

Allowing Myself To Think (Some) Good Thoughts About The Browns

It took a second viewing of Thursday night’s blowout victory against the Green Bay Packers for it to sink in, but there were plenty of things to take away in a cautiously optimistic fashion. While I’m on the record (or soon will be) that I don’t think the Browns will be making any drastic moves northward in the standings that will result in making the playoffs or anything like...

Trent Richardson could be back at practice “soon”

AP With Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson reportedly ahead of schedule in his rehab from arthroscopic knee surgery, head coach Pat Shurmur believes he could be back at practice soon. “He’s getting better every day so his progress has been outstanding,” Shurmur said, per ProFootballTalk.com.  “I think he’s 10 days out now, so he’s about where we thought he’d...

Trent Richardson Ahead of Schedule

According to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal, Browns coach Pat Shurmur said running back Trent Richardson has made good progress and might be ahead of schedule in his rehab from arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.Fantasy Spin:Richardson's second knee scope has clearly scared owners off. The running back was routinely drafted in the early second round in mock drafts...

Football fun again for Browns RB Hardesty

The Cleveland Browns are getting surprising production at running back in the preseason. This unexpected help is coming from Montario Hardesty and not No. 3 overall pick Trent Richardson. Coach Pat Shurmur said Sunday that Hardesty is making the most of increased playing time since Richardson had knee surgery Aug. 9. Except for Hardesty's costly fumble on the first play at...

New owner, new quarterback, same Browns?

Since  returning to the NFL in 1999 the Cleveland Browns have only had one playoff showdown in 2002 and is one of only four teams that have never made it to the big game, the Super Bowl. Die hard Cleveland fans have stuck around through three owners, five presidents, five general managers and six head [...]

Richardson ahead of schedule

Some good news out of Cleveland today. Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur told the media that first round draft pick Trent Richardson is making progress and could be ahead of schedule. Richardson had a routine scope on his left knee about ten days ago and it’s hopeful that he returns for Week 1. If he’s indeed healthy and ready to go that would be a boost to the offense...

Rookies Hughes, Winn contribute to Browns defense

For the second year in a row, the Cleveland Browns have two rookies making an impact on their defensive line. First-round picks Trent Richardson at running back and Brandon Weeden at quarterback got the draft-day attention. Linemen John Hughes and Billy Winn hope to show that later-round selections can make a difference, too. Both said after practice Monday that they are trying...

Brandon Weeden Must Be Great Or The Cleveland Browns Will Move On

Everything is coming up roses in Cleveland because rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden looked much improved in last week’s preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. While it always is a good thing to see young players perform well even under preseason conditions, as with everything else in August, it also is good not to get too “up” or too “down” about anything. Everyone...

Travis Benjamin getting 1st-team reps with Browns

Cleveland Browns 4th-round pick Travis Benjamin has reportedly been getting some first-team reps in three-receivers sets. Benjamin is vastly undersized (5’10″, 175 pounds) but may be the faster receiver on the Browns roster. So while he probably won’t be taking many balls away from Greg Little or Mohamed Massaquoi, he could be used as a deep threat (and as a decoy). The Browns...

Shurmur: James-Michael Johnson Might Start for Fujita

Getting any kind of commitment from an NFL head coach prior to roster cutdowns is a miracle. This is not to criticize Pat Shurmur. There is a lot of football and a lot of moving pieces between now and the opening week against the Philadelphia Eagles. One piece that won’t be moving is Scott Fujita serving his suspension. One of the biggest questions the Browns needed to answer this...

Colt McCoy says he doesn’t want to be anywhere but Cleveland

AP Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he doesn’t want to leave Cleveland. “If it comes to that, if they decide to do something, [I'll deal with it] at that point,” McCoy said. “But no one has said anything to me yet, and there’s no place I’d rather be than here. I’m invested in this city and this team, and I wouldn’t have...

Joe Thomas is a worse tipper than LeBron

Whatever else about LeBron’s tipping habits, at least he always leaves something. Maybe the rules are different when it comes to strip clubs? Anyway, here’s an exclusive report about a Friday night/early Saturday morning visit to Christie’s Cabaret in the Flats by a regular Frowns commenter:  I was in C-town for [the] weekend [and ended up at] Christie’s on Friday night...
