TEAMS: Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers
The Cleveland Browns have announced that QB Thaddeus Lewis will get the start against the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend.
Cleveland was obviously hoping that Brandon Weeden and Colt McCoy would be able to play in the season finale, but they wound up missing practice again on Friday and it became pretty clear that they wouldn’t be available this weekend.
The Browns recently signed Josh Johnson who will serve as the team’s backup quarterback on Sunday. Trent Richardson is also expected to miss Week 17′s game, so this is shaping up to be a very good matchup for the Steelers. It’s just too bad they’re already out of contention for the postseason.

Is The Colt McCoy Shoulder Injury A Farce Manufactured By Shurmur?
Last week when the Cleveland Browns put McCoy into the game to replace the injured Weeden, the team was able to move the ball down the field and finally score a touchdown, something they haven’t done in almost 3 quarters of play with Weeden leading the Browns. In his post game press conference McCoy was asked if he was going to be the starting quarterback in Pittsburgh, his answer...

The Quicker The Browns Get Rid Of Pat Shurmur The Better Off The Team Will Be
The Cleveland Browns travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in what could very well be Pat Shurmur’s last game as the Cleveland Browns head Coach, we all hope. Shurmur as an offensive play caller in the NFL has failed miserably. In the past four seasons Shurmur called plays that lead him to 18 wins and 46 losses, this includes his 2 years as the offensive coordinator with...

Browns vs. Steelers Reader’s Survey
It’s going to be the toughest game to predict all year in all likelihood. The Browns and Steelers don’t have anything to play for but pride and paychecks. The teams are a mystery right now at least on the Browns’ side of the equation as Brandon Weeden, Trent Richardson and even Colt McCoy are questionable at best and out in all probability. It could be the last game as a member...
Change almost a certainty for Browns
The season is about to end for the Browns, and usually that means change is next.
Two weeks ago, Cleveland still had a chance to make the playoffs. But two straight lopsided losses and a slew of injuries have placed the Browns in a familiar predicament as they prepare for Sunday's season finale at Pittsburgh. Coach Pat Shurmur is likely to be replaced next week, and new owner...
“Zero” percent chance Trent Richardson plays this week
According to Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com, there’s a “zero” percent chance that running back Trent Richardson will in Sunday’s season finale against the Steelers. Richardson has had a monster rookie season that he’ll be able to build off of heading into next season. On Wednesday, the Cleveland Browns signed QB Josh Johnson to their roster but rookie QB Thad Lewis could get the start this week when the Cleveland Browns play their season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The moves by the Browns were made necessary with Brandon Weeden and Colt McCoy both nursing shoulder injuries sustained last Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Neither quarterback...

Third-string quarterback Thad Lewis is one day closer to starting for the Browns.
With Brandon Weeden and Colt McCoy not practicing again because of right shoulder injuries, Lewis worked with Cleveland's first-team offense on Thursday as the Browns prepared for Sunday's season finale against Pittsburgh.

Browns fans are very familiar with ugly season-ending games
So who is the backup for the backup?
As Scott told us today, Thad Lewis, recently called up from the practice squad, got the first team reps today in Berea. That’s right. Not Brandon Weeden with a bum shoulder. Not Colt McCoy, also with a bum shoulder. Thaddeus Lewis. Just a reminder, Lewis is a 25-year-old from Duke with a much-heralded arm and some decent athletic ability. He’s...

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers: Week 17 NFL Pick
Cleveland Browns (5-10) at Pittsburgh Steelers (7-8)
Aside from this being a divisional matchup, this is a completely meaningless game for these two teams. Both are out of the playoffs. I have a rule against making significant plays on completely meaningless games. If the teams might not care about a game, I shouldn’t either. There’s just no way to predict what kind of effort...
