The Jets have announced that starting LB Bryan Thomas is out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon.
This is a huge blow to the Jets. Thomas is the longest tenured Jet, having been with the team for 10 seasons. As I mentioned earlier on Twitter, the other guy that may get a chance to replace Thomas is newly signed LB Aaron Maybin. Maybin was able to get after Flacco twice yesterday, and once caused a fumble. However, Maybin is undersized, and as with Westerman, his ability to stop the run is somewhat unknown at this point.
