According to a report tonight from ESPN insider Adam Schefter, Buccaneers CB Eric Wrights four-game suspension handed down today voids the remaining guarantees in his contract, leaving him in some jeopardy.
If true, that means the Bucs could opt to void Wrights contract and avoid paying the $7.75 million he is owed in a guaranteed base salary for 2013 or any other sum for that matter. Wright signed a five-year contract, but the $15 million in guarantees in his deal were all limited to the first two years of the pact.
