Buccaneers QB Tom Brady: 'I'm going to work on my speed' in offseason

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has won six championships, is about to play in his 10th Super Bowl, and turned 43 years old last August. While Brady is undeniably the G.O.A.T. who finished the regular season second in passing touchdowns (40) behind only uncrowned NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers (48), he's not known for his quickness. As noted by ESPN stats, Brady has accumulated only 1,043 career rushing yards in regular-season play.

He's looking to do something about that during the upcoming offseason.

"I’m going to work on my speed," Brady explained while speaking with reporters on Thursday, per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. "I see those guys running around. I’ve got to make a few of those plays."

Laugh all you want, but we wouldn't put much past Brady. He admittedly looks better heading into Super Bowl LV than he did playing for the New England Patriots in January 2020, he's already said that he's considering playing past the age of 45, and he told media members on Wednesday that he'll be "on to next season" as soon as Sunday's game ends.

Earlier on Thursday, Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians admitted he wouldn't be surprised if Brady extended his stay with the Bucs past the 2021 campaign.

Long may TB12 run.
