THE GOOD
Physicality and Teamwork
The Bucs treated this as a game, the Chiefs as a practice. The benefits the Bucs reaped were that they were able to play with intensity and abandon, while the Chiefs were seemed to never match their intensity (and, obviously, didn’t get to gain the confidence of making a lot of big plays).
The Linebackers
The backers were hitting and crackling, showing that speed including rookie Mason Foster finishing Tyler Palko on the sideline. Quincy Black, Adam Hayward and Dekoda Watson made great, clean tackles.
The Quarterbacks
They all moved around very well with no jitters and threw with zip. Josh Johnson is really stepping into his throws better and will be #4 or #5 in velocity among NFL starters whenever that day comes.
Jock Sanders
His 21-yard return was great. I hope he makes it to some roster, if not the Bucs.
Dez Briscoe
To have three receivers this fast and this dynamic after the catch and to have them all grow together will make them a beauty to behold.
THE BAD
Drops
There weren’t many, but they will need to clean that up.
THE UGLY
The Chiefs
I expected the Chiefs may have issues, since they lost Charlie Weis but they were even more flat on defense. They have plenty of time to get better, though.
