Cody Wallace

Buc’s head coach Greg Schiano confirmed a couple roster moves. The team claimed three linemen in center Cody Wallace, defensive tackle Corey Irvin, and guard Julian Vandervalde while releasing two at the start of practice, defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry and guard Bradley Sowell.

Wallace came into the league as a 2008 fourth-roud draft pick by the San Francisco 49ers. He has spent time with the Lions, Jets, and Texans.

Vandervalde was drafted last season by the Philadelphia Eagles as a fifth rounder. He appeared in one regular season game as a rookie in 2011.

Defensive tackle Corey Irvin was released by Jacksonville after playing in four games in 2011 for the Jaguars. In 2009, he spent his rookie season on IR with the Carolina Panthers. He has appeared in six games in two active seasons and has account for six tackles.

The Bucs were at 52 players after yesterday’s cut down. The release of Gillberry and Sowell put them down to 50 but back to the leage maximum of 53 after the acquisitions.

Coach Schiano confirmed today there will be more roster movement leading into Tuesday.
