The Bucs and Jets have been linked in trade talks for the services of Darrelle Revis. Monday evening, a report stated the Buccaneers are possibly considering sending their first round pick to New York for Revis. Now, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is saying the Bucs are losing interest in trading for the Pro Bowl cornerback. The biggest takeaway from our first full day at the league meetings in Phoenix is that, with the Jets and Buccaneers taking strong opposing positions as to the trade value of one of the best defensive players in football, the Buccaneers are close to moving on.  The belief is that the Jets want a package headlined by a first-round pick, and that the Buccaneers are willing to part with, at most, a 2014 first-round selection. Florio’s words contradict the report from late Monday night that the Bucs are looking into sending this year’s first round pick. He adds that the Jets will have a hard time finding a team willing to give up this year’s first round pick and that Revis’ “best move” would be to play in 2013 healthy and hit free agency in 2014. At the end of it all, if the Bucs really wanted Darrelle Revis that bad, general manager Mark Dominik would have sent the Jets a more enticing offer to get him already and the deal would have been made. The fact that it has not happened justifies Florio’s statements. The post Bucs’ interest in Darrelle Revis is fading appeared first on The Bay Cave.
