The Bay Cave:
The Dallas Cowboys beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 16-10. However, the score could have been one less touchdown for the Bucs as their offense could not get anything going.
Tampa Bay started off quick when Aqib Talib stepped in front of Cowboys’ wide receiver Miles Austin to intercept the pass from Tony Romo. Josh Freeman would go on to throw a one yard touchdown pass to tight end Luke Stocker in the corner of the end zone to jump out in front 7-0.
Later in the first quarter, Dallas would get an interception when a pass from Josh Freeman to running back DJ Ware bounced off his facemask and into the arms of Cowboys’ linebacker Sean Lee. Four plays later, running back DeMarco Murray would take it in from 11 yards out and tie the Bucs at seven.
Neither offense would get much more going as both defenses would force several stops. The difference would be three field goals by Dallas kicker Dan Bailey as the Cowboys were at least able to play into Bucs’ territory.
Both Michael Bennett and Gerald McCoy contributed in big ways to the defense. Each had two sacks on Tony Romo. The defensive front also pressured Romo into several bad throws throughout the game as well as fumble the ball.
Quarterback Josh Freeman had some bad throws of his own. On a third and 20 in Cowboys’ territory, Vincent Jackson found a hole in the Dallas secondary to which he threw behind Jackson to miss a third down conversion. The ground game went nowhere as Doug Martin rushed 19 times for 53 yards. LeGarrette Blount saw his first action since the second quarter of week one and rushed for 19 yards on four carries. Blount also leaped over a Cowboys defender using his signature hurdle.
The Bucs do have some concern on the injury front. On one of Gerald McCoy’s sacks, defensive end Adrian Clayborn would get his leg caught between Tony Romo falling back and a Cowboys’ offensive lineman. Early indications point to Clayborn missing the rest of the season but the team will perform an MRI on Monday and try to provide more information on his injury.
The Bucs will play hosts to Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins next Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.

ARLINGTON The Cowboys offensive line didn't do Tony Romo many favors in Sunday's home opener. Romo was sacked four times and hit hard after several throws.
After the game, Romo said the 16-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was one of the "most physically tough" games he's played in.
He then joked that he'd probably be using some ice packs tonight....
Poor Tony Romo, not only did he get destroyed on this sack by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Gerald McCoy but he didn't even get a penalty for a helmet-to-helmet hit from the replacement officials:
The Buccaneers are hardly a consistent team, but Greg Schiano is at least consistent in his coaching philosophies. Schiano again dialed up a blitz as the opposing team's offense lined up in victory formation. It was Tony Romo and the Cowboys who had to stave off Tampa Bay's late-game bull rush this week. Schiano, of course, took a lot of heat following the Bucs' Week...
Morris Claiborne had one tackle. Mike Jenkins had one tackle. Brandon Carr had zero tackles. Gerald Sensabaugh didn't play and other starting safety Barry Church was lost for the year with a ruptured Achilles.
If you were to look solely at the stats, you would likely be disappointed with how the Dallas Cowboys secondary played yesterday. But, as is common in the NFL, the...
Tuesday is a day off for Tampa Bay Buccaneers players, but rest assured head coach Greg Schiano and general manager Mark Dominik will be working overtime to address the teams latest injury issue.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano told the media today that defensive end Adrian Clayborn is done for the season with torn knee ligaments in his right knee.
“Unfortunately, it’s not a good one. Adrian is going to have to have surgery, so he’s done for the season,” Schiano said during his Monday news conference, per the Tampa Bay Times. “You know, it’ll probably...
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys finally had some short scoring drives, and needed them.
There also were a couple of extra kneel-downs by Romo before the Cowboys had secured a 16-10 victory Sunday in their home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Romo was unscathed on those extra snaps when the Bucs, a week after their big push against the New York...
It’s been a tough season so far for the replacement officials in the NFL. It seems to be obvious to almost every NFL player, coach and fan, who’s name isn’t Roger Goodell, that the replacement reps aren’t up to par with the currently locked out officials. We all know that the old officials made mistakes, but the amount of mistakes seemed miniscule compared to what we’ve...

Mucho Frio: Tony Romo
En Fuego: Big Ben
When it comes to hanging tough on the road against NFC East powerhouses, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting far more experience than they'd like these days.
And much to their dismay, they're also finding themselves with plenty of time to practice head coach Greg Schiano's controversial blitz-the-victory formation call.
Even with some impressive play along the way...

I liked Stevie Johnson coming into the season, but didn’t love him. He was still dealing with a groin issue and Fitzpatrick faded down the stretch of the of 2011 season as he was either injured or teams figured him out.
So far this season, the Bills offense has been pretty darn effective and Johnson has 50 yards or more with...
