TAMPA, Fla. Quincy Blacks Tampa Bay Buccaneers career is over. The Bucs announced Thursday that the linebacker has been released after failing a physical. His future was in doubt after it was learned in February that he underwent nerve graft surgery at the end of January. Black, 29, has had restricted movement in his left arm since a damaging collision with San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews in Tampa Bay's Week 10 victory at Raymond James Stadium. Black was immobilized and carted off the field, and he was placed on injured reserve two days later. Black, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound Chicago native, was a third-round selection 68th overall by the Bucs in 2007. He played in 81 games, starting 40, and earned 299 tackles, four forced fumbles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries in his career. Also on Thursday, Tampa Bay announced the signings of other free agents: Linebacker Jonathan Casillas (formerly of the New Orleans Saints), wide receiver Kevin Ogletree (Dallas Cowboys), running back LeGarrette Blount and defensive tackle Corvey Irvin. The Buccaneers tendered restricted free agent defensive end Daniel Teo-Nesheim. You can follow Andrew Astleford on Twitter @aastleford or email him at aastleford@gmail.com.
