The Bucs, after their latest loss at defensive tackle, have agreed to terms with free agent John McCargo, a former first-round pick of the Bills who is attempting to revive his undistinguished career. With defensive tackle E.J. Wilson waived Saturday and expected to be placed on injured reserve after an ankle injury against the Patriots Thursday, the Bucs are down three tackles: Wilson, Brian Price (pelvis) and Roy Miller (knee). McCargo, 28, went to N.C. State then was drafted 26th overall by Buffalo in 2006. He's played in 40 career games with one start. In 2008, McCargo was traded to the Colts, but the deal was voided when he failed the required physical administered by Indianapolis. The selection of McCargo is one of several first-round disappointments for the Bills. Quarterback J.P. Losman and defensive end Aaron Maybin have also flamed out with the team in recent years, Maybin being released just this week.
