The New York Giants are set to face the Denver Broncos in their week two matchup at Metlife Stadium. Many are already calling it Manning bowl three. This matchup of the brother Manning is set to be a good one. The timing of this game has brought the matchup of the two quarterbacks to the front. Both Peyton and Eli are at the top of their game in their careers. Peyton’s Colts had won the first two games. The first matchup in 2006 Eli was still finding his way in the league and had not established himself. Then matchup in 2010 was just one of those odd games that the Giants have where they just can not compete. Fast forward to now both Peyton and Eli are consider to be top tier elite quarterbacks in the NFL. Eli has won two superbowls and has established himself as a fourth quarter and playoff super hero. Peyton has comeback from neck surgery and picked up exactly where he left off. Peyton also started the season with a bang by throwing for seven touchdowns. Both Peyton and Eli look like they will be putting up big numbers tis year. The other aspects of this match up is the team situations and the weapons on both offenses. Denver is a considered to contend for the superbowl. With Denver’s acquisition of Wes Welker their receiving core will be tough to contain now. Demaryius Thomas also has emerged as one of Peyton’s top targets. As for the Giants they are hoping to make the playoffs as well. Eli has a healthy Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. Those two can make miss matches all over the field. This game will mean a lot for Eli if he can win. It will give great momentum off a big win going forward in the season. A win for Eli will also separate him from his brother and get him out of Peyton’s shadow. Eli and Peyton will always be compared to each other because they are brother. With a win Eli can show that he is on Peyton’s level and is as good or better than his brother. People always want to compare numbers between the two, and Peyton will always have better numbers. What people do not realize is they are two different kinds of quarterbacks. Peyton is the sharp shooter who picks apart defenses and Eli is the gunslinger who throws the ball and just focuses on winning. If people want to hold Peyton’s amazing stats over Eli, then they should also hold Eli’s two superbowls over Peyton. Both Peyton and Eli will be considered two of the best quarterbacks in the game. They both will have amazing career numbers. Eli will have most likely have more superbowl rings than Peyton. Both will be Hall of Famers someday. When people debate over the Manning brothers they should say that Eli was just as great as his brother or better.
