Mike Jurecki of XTRA Phoenix reports that the Arizona Cardinals are discussing a two-year contract extension with FS Kerry Rhodes. I’m hearing the Cards are discussing a two year contract extension w/ FS Kerry Rhodes, who’s under contract thru 2013 @ 4.5 million. — Mike Jurecki (@mikejurecki) December 17, 2012 Rhodes, 30, has been very productive for the Cardinals in the past few years and even rates as the No. 4 safety in the league this season according to Pro Football Focus. As Jurecki points out, Rhodes has one year remaining on his current deal, but he’s clearly deserving of an extension. A deal could be done in the coming weeks, but there’s at least a reasonable chance that discussions could continue into the offseason.

'Overdue' win an emotional one for Cardinals

GLENDALE, Ariz. The Cardinals' losing streak was like a 12-month pregnancy. It lingered far too long, and once it crossed a certain threshold, nobody cared about beauty any more. All that mattered was deliverance from the pain. Maybe that's why safety Adrian Wilson was so emotional when he reached the podium at the postgame press conference Sunday following the Cardinals...

Hopeful signs remain amid Cards' lost season

TEMPE, Ariz. Coach Ken Whisenhunt put it best at his Monday press conference following the Cardinals' 38-10 win over the Lions on Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium. I thought our players really laid it on the line yesterday, he said, noting how much it says about a team when young guys and veteran guys in the midst of something that is very tough stick together. It was...

Sit of the Week – Beanie Wells

As I mentioned here, you shouldn’t be fooled by Beanie Wells’ Week 15 fantasy numbers. Wells finished with a good fantasy line, but his game stats weren’t that great and his TDs were garbage time gimmes. He still has yet to prove that he’s fully healthy after his injury, and that he can produce in [...]
