NFL Injury Report:
The Arizona Cardinals have placed quarterback Kevin Kolb on
injured reserve, ending his season, and named quarterback Ryan Lindley as their
starter for this weekend’s matchup against the Detroit Lions, reports GreggRosenthal of NFL.com.
The team announced Wednesday that Kolb was placed on
season-ending injured reserve. He showed flashes of promise in six outings this
year (five starts), helping the Cardinals get off to a 4-2 record.
It’s hard to believe the Cardinals were a 4-0 team in parts
due to the efforts of Kolb. However, it’s an entirely new season at this point,
and Kolb will no longer be a part of it as the team has placed him on
Arizona believed Kolb would be able to recover and get to
the point where he was able to return for the end of the season, but he
recently experienced a setback to his rib injury.
Kolb is in the final year of his contract and is set to hit
the free agent market. He wasn’t overly impressive this season, but available
quarterbacks are likely to be few and far between this coming offseason.

TEMPE, Ariz. The Cardinals placed Kevin Kolb on injured reserve Wednesday, ending his season.
The writing for that move was on the wall when the Cards signed quarterback Brian Hoyer off waivers on Monday. When asked if this move was a possibility on Monday, coach Ken Whisenhunt said that would be a medical decision, but he no longer seemed hopeful that Kolb would return this season...
The Arizona Cardinals placed quarterback Kevin Kolb on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday. Kolb led the Cardinals to a 4-0 start before he was sidelined with a rib injury in a game against Buffalo. Arizona has spiraled downward with nine straight losses in Kolb's absence. In his place, the Cardinals have used John Skelton and rookie Ryan Lindley this season with little...
The Arizona Cardinals have given up hope that Kevin Kolb will return this season, placing the only quarterback who had success with the team this season on injured reserve and naming rookie Ryan Lindley as starter for Sunday's game against Detroit.
Kolb led the team to a 4-0 start to the season, but went down with a rib injury in Week 6 and has not played since. The team placed...
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- The Arizona Cardinals placed Kevin Kolb on injured reserve Wednesday, ending the season for the only quarterback who was able to lead the team to victory this year.
Kolb was beat out for the starting job in the preseason by John Skelton, a third-year pro from Fordham who went down late in the opener against Seattle with an ankle injury. Kolb came on to direct...
Rookie Ryan Lindley will be the Arizona Cardinals' starting quarterback in Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, coach Ken Whisenhunt announced Wednesday. John Skelton started last week's 58-0 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He threw four interceptions before being replaced by Lindley. Lindley has played in five games this season, including two starts, both of...
Cardinals rookie QB Ryan Lindley will start Week 15, according to beat writer Kent Somers.Fantasy Spin:Based on Lindley's performaces to date (55.8 QB rating, 48.3 percent completion rate), it's impossible to start any Arizona receiver, even the uber-talented Larry Fitzgerald.
Arizona quarterback Kevin Kolb (ribs) has been placed on injured reserve, ending another disappointing season.Fantasy Spin:The Cardinals' offense is ranked 32nd out of 32 teams and will have to live with John Skelton, Ryan Lindley and newly-signed Brian Hoyer as their quarterbacks over the final three weeks.
The Arizona Cardinals are playing some of the worst football in recent history. After somehow lucking their way into winning their first four games of the season, they have now rattled off nine straight losses and look to be going nowhere fast as they placed Kevin Kolb on the IR this week and anointed Ryan Lindley his replacement.
The Cardinals are a team that will find themselves...
After watching some of the Seahawks and Cardinals game this past Sunday, I couldn’t help but wonder just how in the hell Arizona started off the season 4-0 and were talking about the playoffs. With the 58-0 whacking they took in Seattle, they continued their second streak of the season; a nine game losing streak.
To try and pinpoint just where this team went wrong is a daunting...
