The Arizona Cardinals plan to start John Skelton at quarterback for at least the season opener, the TheSidelineView.com reported Friday. Skelton has outperformed Kevin Kolb this preseason, though neither has been terribly impressive. Kolb has been a disappointment since coming to Arizona in a trade last year with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cardinals signed Kolb to a six-year, $65 million deal. The Eagles received a second-round draft pick and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in the deal. Skelton is a former fifth-round draft pick out of Fordham. The Cardinals host the Seattle Seahawks Sept. 9.
