Now that the Cardinals have hired defensive coordinator Ray Horton, expect other changes on the defensive staff, according to The Arizona Republic on Thursday. The Republic reported that Cinncinati Bengals assistant defensive backs coach Louie Cioffi could be the Cardinals defensive backs coach, and that former cornerback Deshea Townsend will be hired as Cioffi’s assistant to work with corners and nickel backs. The team later confirmed Townsend’s hiring. Townsend played for the Steelers during Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt’s time in Pittsburgh. According to the newspaper, the potential hirings mean current secondary coaches Donnie Henderson and Rick Courtright probably won’t return.
