Today the Arizona Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson returned to practice. Johnson is expected to return to the field Sunday, two weeks after losing the tip of his left middle finger during a game Sept. 22 against the New Orleans Saints. Johnson was cleared by team doctors Thursday and was listed as questionable in Friday’s injury […]
Arizona Cardinals offensive players in the offseason had to learn coach Bruce Arians offense, formations, plays and concepts were installed, and there was a steady influx of information that would be added on the practice field. The Cardinals offense has gone in reverse the past two weeks, scoring 20 points, converting six of 23 third downs and committing five turnovers. Arians will...

This isn’t a surprise at all, Rivera has never had the Panthers...
The Carolina Panthers (1-3) were optimistic entering Sunday’s contest at University of Phoenix Stadium against the Arizona Cardinals (3-2). They were coming off a bye week following a huge win at home against the New York Giants. But dropped passes and not protecting the quarterback ended their hopes, as the Cardinals won 22-6.
Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said the offensive...
Steve Smith just moved up my all tine favorite list. This rant was the best in a while. “I got a (pass interference) penalty, which is very interesting,” Smith said Monday, via The Charlotte Observer. “I got leg-humped and hugged a few times. Being a pretty good flag football player, I think I got my […]
It’s the start of the work week and another installment of our Overreaction Monday series. This weekend was saved by a stellar defensive performance by the Arizona Cardinals as they were the only team in the state to get a victory. The Arizona State University Sun Devils fell in a tough game to Notre Dame while the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks lost on the road...
Defensive coordinator Todd Bowles received a shiny new toy just in time to face quarterback Cam Newton and the Panthers offense. That new toy was Daryl Washington, fresh off his 4 game suspension to start the season. Washington’s impact was swift and noticeable. In a must win for the Arizona Cardinals, the defense stood up and took control of the game, powering its way...
Seven sacks, three interceptions and a lost fumble.
Cam Newton had a miserable Sunday in Arizona.
The Cardinals shut down Carolina's running game and zeroed in on Newton. The result was a 22-6 victory over the Panthers.
Arizona celebrated the return of Pro Bowl inside linebacker Daryl Washington from a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy...
This will not be a play by play recap of the game, you could find that anywhere.
Instead this piece will spell out the positives and negatives from the 22-6 defeat at Arizona. (Hint, it’s just about all negative despite the few highlighted players)
Two career games, two interceptions. Frankly, he and Mike Mitchell have looked fabulous together. Robert...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson gets to keep his wallet in his pocket this week as the NFL has deemed his hit on Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Jaron Brown was legal.
In reviewing the tape, league officials saw that Goldson delivered a shoulder-to-chest, not helmet-to-helmet hit, reported the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Unfortunately, Goldson was penalized 15...
Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith is still upset with the officiating in Carolina's 22-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, calling a member of Sunday's crew ''garbage.''
The 34-year-old Smith took aim Monday at umpire Dan Ferrell, saying Ferrell was ''the sorriest referee I've ever met.''
Smith added that Ferrell ''received a check...
The former Midwestern State University guard Amini Silatolu has been amazing for the Carolina Panthers since being drafted by them. Well today after Silatolu left the game due to a leg injury, Cam Newton was sacked for a safety. The Panthers already miss his services. @NFL_ATL: Panthers guard Amini Silatolu out for the game due […]
Panthers GM Dave Gettleman is shooting down reports he has already begun laying the groundwork for potential coaching candidates, and called the rumor “unequivocally false.”
Sunday morning Ian Rapoport reported that the Panthers had already started the process to replace Ron Rivera as head coach.
Gettleman denied the initial NFL Network report, via David Newton of ESPN...
Ideally bye weeks come in the middle of the season when NFL teams are battered and bruised and need time to get everybody back on the mend.
Not the case for the 1-2 Panthers. Their bye came at about the worst time possible — a week after a 38-0 thrashing of the Giants and only four weeks into the season.
That momentum may have partially subsided leading up to Carolina's road...

On Wednesday, ESPN was talking about the Maryland Terrapins being a team that could possibly knock off Florida State. The game was played in Tallahassee and the Terrapins have been sort of a dark horse team all season sitting at 4-0. Some FSU alums didn’t agree with ESPN’s take. Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett and former state...
