PLAYERS: Cassius Vaughn
TEAMS: Denver Broncos
Cornerback/kick returner Cassius Vaughn will have surgery Friday in North Carolina to repair the fracture in his lower left fibula. Vaughn suffered the injury while returning a kickoff 36 yards prior to the Broncos’ first possession at San Diego. “”I broke a tackle and planted to make a cut and it just snapped,” Vaughn said. He was placed on season-ending injured reserved Monday. Asked if he was feeling blue, Vaughn said: “”Not at all. I’m going to get this fixed and get back and make sure I’m around for my teammates. I want to be around for this run that we’re on. I’ll be all right.”
