Broncos TE Thomas has ankle surgery
Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas underwent surgery to repair ligament damage in his ankle.
Thomas was injured in the second week of the season. He appeared in five games, making only one catch for five yards.
A fourth-round draft pick in 2011, Thomas could be in line for a much bigger role in the offense following the signing of Peyton Manning.
