Jim Baumbach of Newsday sat down with Luis Castillo and has a great article on the veteran second baseman's struggles last year and what to expect this year. He has certainly made a positive impression on the field this spring with a .276 BA and a club high 15 walks giving him a .467 OBP. With the Twins Castillo hit second but they also put two lead-off caliber players at the bottom of the order, so he was really an table setting RBI guy, this spring his Slg. pct. is .409 and he has 8 RBIs while hitting lead-off or second. His quickness seems to be back as well as his healthy; he's made several fine defensive plays, beaten out a few infield hits and even stolen two bases. As of yet I'm still not fully on board, I will admit I'm waiting to see him come up lame or go into a slump but I'm sure those concerns will subside the longer he succeeds.
