Free agent cornerback Cedric Griffin has agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins.
Griffin was expected to sign his contract Friday.
Griffin was cut last week by Minnesota, where he played for six years. He came back after tearing the ACL in both knees in 2010 to play in all 16 games last year, but he wasn't able to regain his previous form, was benched late in the season and expressed dissatisfaction with his demotion.
He had three years left on his contract when he was released by the Vikings and had been due $4.1 million in salary for 2012.
The Redskins could be looking to move Griffin to safety, where the team is seeking to replace LaRon Landry and Oshiomogho Atogwe.

The plan is to draft Robert Griffin III out of Baylor. Mike Holmgren told me everything I need to know about the Washington Redskins trade-up for the Rams' slot in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Why else would the president of the Cleveland Browns have to explain to season ticket holders that he lost the bid to trade up for the rights to Robert Griffin III?

Vikings cornerback Chris Cook was found not guilty on all counts, two of them felonies, stemming from an October fight with his girlfriend.
If there's one thing Browns' fans have learned during this free agency period, it's that you can't call GM Tom Heckert a liar. Heckert said last week that the franchise would not make a big splash in the market. The NFL's high-priced free agent bazaar opened on Tuesday at 4 p.m., and true to their word, the Browns weren't waiting to rush inside with checkbook...

This ship sailed with Tampa Bay signing Vincent Jackson and the Redskins signing Pierre Garcon, obviously, but here’s video from Sunday of SOJA (Soldiers of Jah Army, bumbaclot) taking time out from their San Diego show to try and persuade V-Jax to come play for their hometown Redskins.
