"You can win the World Series without Babe Ruth.''
On a few occasions, Chan Gailey would tell his coaches this before the Bills hired him as coach. Now, you could view it as being a way to say we can get a team full of good players and win without a star player. It is a team game, right? Standard coach speaking. However, after about two and half seasons worth of signs from Chan, I view it a lot more differently.
I view it as a way to say...
"My coaching mind will make any player I come across better than they are. So, who needs Babe Ruth when I can make you into Babe Ruth?"
Maybe I'm being cynical and just being so over Chan Gailey's philosophy on offense, but there's way more proof about Gailey imposing what he thinks he can do best rather than what is best for the team. He wants to make Chinese chefs cook up pizza because that's his favorite food. He wants to fit a square peg in a round hole. All those sorts of lame ass ana...

The Carolina-Clemson rivalry got the best of former Tiger C.J. Spiller over the weekend.
Buffalo Bills teammate Stephon Gilmore, a former USC player of course, tweeted the above picture as part of bet that Spiller lost involving their former teams and the rivalry matchup this past Saturday.
Via Twitter, Gilmore wrote: “The moment you have all been waiting for. C.J. Spiller has...
(Eds: Updates. With AP Photos.) By NICK MENDOLA Associated Press After a slow start to his career in Buffalo, Super Mario has found the next level.
Too bad for the Bills and their fans, it's a little late for a realistic postseason push.
Either way, the high-priced defensive end is starting to give Buffalo a bit of a return on its offseason investment. The Bills have slipped...

Rookie safety Delano Howell was signed to the Indianapolis Colts' active roster from the practice squad of the Buffalo Bills. Howell entered the league as an undrafted free agent from Stanford. He played in one game with the Bills and was waived, then re-signed, twice. Offensive guard Seth Olsen was cleared to return to practice, but remains on injured reserve. Olsen has...
When blacked out Bills games roll around it becomes very difficult to stay vested in their success. Considering that Sunday’s game along with the St. Louis and Jets games are likely to be blacked out, I’m pretty sure my Sundays are going to be free.
If you plan on using the super-secret internet feed, good for you. If you plan on enjoying a Sunday with intermittent radio...
Following Sunday’s loss to the Colts, Stevie Johnson said he wants coach Chan Gailey to give up play-calling duties.Johnson posted a 6/106/0 line, but he wasn’t happy afterward. “How I see it, I think we need to let our quarterback call these plays,” he said. “He’s out there on the field. He sees the adjustments that need to be done.” Gailey is accustomed to Johnson’s...
Despite the fact that the 1978 Buffalo Bills were not a very good team, they hold a prestigious modern-day NFL team record (essentially by default). The Chuck Knox-coached Bills finished 5-11, with opposing teams licking their chops in anticipation of pounding the ball against the porous Bills rushing defense; that season, Buffalo allowed an average of 201.8 rushing YPG, and allowed...

One of the most powerful trends in betting is known as the six and six trend, meaning teams who finished with 6 wins or fewer are 23-64 ATS as favorites of 6 or more since 2002. There are two issues with this trend. One, it’s very rare (it only happened 4 times all last season, going 0-4 ATS). Two, it’s even rarer that a situation...
Ignoring the alliteration of the title of this article, we were approached this week, as sometimes happens, by Bloguin's own Bills blogger, "Joe," for a Q&A. So, we exchanged some questions, and the following is his answers. You can find my answers to his thought provoking questions here. Enjoy.
TJ: Chan Gailey seems to be on the hot seat. Do you see him returning...
The New York Post didn’t miss the opportunity to get a couple of fat jokes in on Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, who seems to have been eating well while recovering from the broken ankle he suffered in Game 1 of the ALCS.
“DEREK EATER: Rehabbing Jeter takes fork in the road to recovery.”
Jeter was spotted at a South Beach hotel Thursday wearing a walking boot...

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM DAHLBERG AP Sports Columnist It could have been the greatest Hall of Fame class since Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb were installed in the very first vote back in 1936.
It would have been if those eligible had allowed their natural ability to carry the day.
Barry Bonds never needed steroids to be great. It was already in his genes, and the numbers he put up...
