The Dallas Cowboys are going through another defensive scheme change and to cornerback Brandon Carr its business as usual. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs before becoming a free agent.. In 2012, He signed to a five-year contract worth a reported $50.1 million with the Cowboys. Bill Parcells brought the read and react 3-4, Wade Phillips tweaked it to a more attacking style, Rob Ryan brought the ‘46’ elements to the 34 defense. Now with new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin's brand new 4-3 ‘Tampa 2’. The defense is a tougher concept for a cornerback that usually plays man to man. Cornerbacks in Kiffin’s system play ‘off coverage’ much more as they cover deeper zones down the field. However, Carr isn’t worried about the change; he embraces it as it is what it is in the NFL. Coaches and schemes come and go, but the players have to adapt regardless. “Just the name of the game,” Carr said, via Carlos Mendez of the Star-Telegram. “You have to adapt to what’s thrown at you.” “I’ve been playing for different coaches, different schemes pretty much my whole career in the NFL,” Carr said. “I feel like it’s kind of adding to my versatility. It’s all about learning and trying to grasp whatever’s thrown at me.”
