The Chargers head into Cleveland with a pair losses behind them. But are optimistic as they face week eight against the Browns.  To win this game, the Chargers will need to not beat themselves. Penalties were huge factors against the Saints and Broncos.  The Chargers have taken themselves out of field goal range in crucial situations and having those points could be the difference in close games.  The second half has also been an issue for the Chargers in the past two weeks. In both games they gave up leads in the second half and could not find an answer to the opponent points. They need to find a way to keep up the success of the offense in the second half.  The answer is to establish the run game. The more passes Philip Rivers has to force, the more mistakes happen and thus turnovers become a huge factor in the game. Ryan Mathews and company need to find a way to move the ball efficiently on the ground. Ryan Mathews needs to start playing like the top draft pick he is.  The Chargers can have some success running the ball against this Cleveland defense if their down field blocking stays solid. Mixing up zone and man to man blocks will be another key to success for Norv Turner and the San Diego offense.  Defensively, penalties are also a big issue. The unit needs to stay away from needless penalties like unnecessary roughness and pass interference that wouldn't effect the outcome of the play.  This gave Drew Brees multiple chances to make something happen on offense and turned the momentum shift in New Orleans.  Against the Browns, the key is on defense will simply be containing Trent Richardson. Richardson has told AP sources that he expects to play despite his not being 100%.  "If he's healthy to play, he plays," Browns Head coach Pat Shurmur said. "If they tell me he's at no risk to hurt it further, then we're playing ball." The Chargers will need to keep a special eye out for Richardson because of his big-play abilities. Expect Pagano to zone blitz and clog any holes Richardson will look to run to.  Tune into a live broadcast of the game on LetMeHearYa.com and live tweets from the @Chargers_101 twitter handle.    Be sure to check out other great articles at Sports Media 101. var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
