Gaither has been inactive for the team's first three games due to a lingering back injury. Undrafted rookie Mike Harris has started the first three games, protecting quarterback Philip Rivers' blind side.

The San Diego Chargers have signed kicker Nick Novak to replace Nate Kaeding for Sunday's game at Kansas City.
To make room for Novak on the roster, the Chargers released offensive lineman Reggie Wells.

Kicker Nate Kaeding suffered a groin injury this week in practice. Though it was a mere strain, the kicker was unable to continue in today's practice and is on a 'day-to-day' basis.
Though he is listed as questionable now, the Bolts will likely not take the chance of having the kicker either miss an important field goal or injure himself further.
