Robert Meachem tells himself: “You sucked last year”

If nothing else San Diego Chargers wide receiver Robert Meachem is certainly honest. Before the 2012 season, Meachem signed a four-year, $26 million contract with the Chargers. During the season, Meachem caught just 14 passes for 207 yards, and two touchdowns. 2012 marked the worst of Meachem’s six NFL seasons. After reflecting on his season, Meachem revealed on XTRA Sports...

San Diego Chargers: What to watch for Thursday

On Thursday, the San Diego Chargers will be playing their first preseason game of the 2013 season against the Seattle Seahawks.  As it is only the preseason, games are not ultra competitive and the end result doesn’t ultimately matter.  That being said, the preseason games are still very important for any football team.  They often determine the winners of depth chart battles...

San Diego Chargers 2013 NFL Season Preview

Introduction After averaging 11.2 wins per season from 2004-2009, the Chargers have averaged just 8 wins per season over the past 3 seasons. Norv Turner, Head Coach since 2007, gets a lot of the blame and was rightfully fired, but recently fired GM AJ Smith deserves more of the blame for their recent decline. The Chargers have done a terrible job of drafting and bringing in new talent...

Chargers get extension to avoid blackout

The San Diego Chargers have asked for and received a 24-hour extension to sell about 1,800 tickets to be able to broadcast Thursday’s preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. It’s ridiculous that the NFL’s blackout policy applies to preseason game. The game is considered sub-par to a common fan compared to a regular season game but both games’ tickets are sold at the...

Would be “major upset” of Max Starks beat King Dunlap for starting LT

Since the San Diego Chargers signed tackle Max Starks in free agency, it was assumed by many(okay all) that he was signed to take the starting job at the left tackle position away from King Dunlap. According to the U-T San Diego’s Michael Gehlken, it would be a major upset if that happens. I don’t know if this speaks more about the play of Max Starks or the overall lack of talent...

Antonio Gates shed some pounds, goal is the Super Bowl

The Hall-of-Fame game is going on right now and one player who will one day undoubtedly be inducted is San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates. The former undrafted free agent has struggled through serious foot injuries which has caused him to gain some weight ( well that and you know, food). This year, Gates has lost those extra pounds. Gates says the same thing said by every...

Danario Alexander’s career finally appeared to be taking off. San Diego Chargers Wide Receiver Robert Meachem Admits He ‘Sucked’ in 2012

Meachem, who signed a four,-year, $26 million contract with the Chargers last offseason, caught just 14 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns in his first season in San Diego. The underwhelming season marked the worst of Meachem’s six-year NFL career and caused the veteran receiver to take some time and reflect on his performance...
