The San Diego Chargers have informed veteran linebacker Stephen Cooper that he will be released, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Cooper, 32, has spent his entire nine-year career with the Chargers, who signed the University of Maine product as an undrafted free agent in 2003. In 125 games, and 63 starts, Cooper has 502 tackles, 9.5 quarterback sacks and eight interceptions.
