Little has changed since I first wrote that Chase Blackburn was the Giants’ starting middle linebacker going into training camp back in mid May.
Now there’s more confirmation that Blackburn will start over newly acquired Keith Rivers. While it needs to be noted that Rivers is looking good so far this offseason, Blackburn will be able to start at the position he rightfully earned late last season on the road to the Super Bowl. For now, it appears as though Rivers will play back up to two positions, middle linebacker behind Blackburn and weak side linebacker behind Michael Boley, who just may be moved to the inside if Giants general manager Jerry Reese has his way.
