With the Scouting Combine drawing most of the attention over the weekend and into this week, the discussion on impending free agents has been fairly quiet. That’s going change in a hurry and one player that’s likely to generate a fair amount of buzz is nose tackle Paul Soliai, who’s expected to be in high demand in free agency. Two teams in need of a quality player at his position are the Chiefs and the Chargers, and it’s looking more and more like they’ll take their division rivalry to the free agent market, competing hard against each other for Soliai’s services. ESPN’s Bill Williamson is of the belief that in the end, Kansas City and San Diego are the two most logical options for Soliai, and a connection with Chargers safety Eric Weddle from their days together in college at Utah may be enough to tip the scales in the Bolts favor. Iowa hires Davis to coordinate offense (AP)

Iowa has named former Texas assistant Greg Davis as its new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Davis replaces Ken O'Keefe, who left the Hawkeyes after 13 seasons to become the wide receivers coach with the Miami Dolphins.
