There is still a Super Bowl to look ahead to for the Kansas City Chiefs, though the offseason is not that far off.
One thing that has been floated around is the idea of the Chiefs bringing back one of their former coaches. Greg Lewis was with the Chiefs from 2017-2022 and held two different titles. Lewis coached the wide receivers until he was with the running backs for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Some in Chiefs Kingdom want the team that they are a fan of to bring back Lewis over Connor Embree in 2024. With the latest NFL news around Lewis, it looks like bringing him back to replace Embree in 2024 could soon be out of the window entirely.
#Ravens WRs coach Greg Lewis will interview today for the #Saints offensive coordinator job, per source. Lewis, the former NFL receiver, won two Super Bowls on Andy Reid’s staff in Kansas City before joining Baltimore this past season.

Lewis is expected to interview for the open offensive coordinator position with the New Orleans Saints. It is pretty late in the process for that job, so hiring happening relatively soon there makes the most sense.
Kansas City elevated Embree to coach wide receivers in 2023 after he served with the team as an offensive quality assistant for a couple of seasons. Before that, Embree was with the team as a defensive assistant for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
A lateral move appears unlikely for Lewis and the Chiefs to come back together with options for him coming about for a promotion. If nothing comes about with the Saints, then the possibility will slide back onto the table. But at the very least right now, Lewis could soon be more than a position coach.
