The Kansas City Chiefs announced the signing of eight players to their practice squad Saturday, among them, two of this year's draft picks.

WR Junior Hemingway and DL Jerome Long, both 7th rounders, get to stay on.

The others were WRs Jamar Newsome and Josh Bellamy, OL Lucas Patterson and David Mims, FB Patrick DiMarco and DB Neiko Thorpe.

The Chiefs, as with every other team, got their roster down to 53 on Friday, but technically, they're at 54 players and will have to cut another after week one.

Linebacker Tamba Hali is suspended for the opener vs. Atlanta for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, and does not currently count against the roster limit. He will on week two though.
