Kansas City Chiefs tight end Leonard Pope saved a 6-year-old boy from drowning in a swimming pool on Saturday.
Pope reportedly was the only person at a party who knew how to swim when he sprung into action, jumping into the pool fully clothed to rescue the child, who is the son of a longtime friend of Pope’s.
Pope said he knew he had to do something and hoped that someone would do the same for his children in that situation.
Pope is a backup tight end who had 10 catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns last season.
