Photo via Philly.com The Eagles held a press conference today at 1:30 to introduce new head coach Chip Kelly. The press conference, which aired live on Comcast SportsNet, focused mostly on Kelly and the organization's decision to come together and make him the next Eagles' head coach. However, you knew Andy Reid was going to be mentioned at some point. "One person I really want to thank in terms of advice in this whole thing was Andy Reid. The fact that Andy reached out to me and told me about his experience here and told me what this organization is all about. There's not a classier guy. When Andy texted me yesterday when I accepted the job I told him I had really, really big shoes to fill. And in typically Andy fashion he just said, 'Be yourself and be fine.' So I want to publicly just thank Andy because that really right there spoke to me about what this organization is about." The Kelly's Eagles will host Reid's Kansas City Chiefs next season. Kelly also talked about how it was really important to him that no information about his decision was leaked until he talked to his players and people close to him. "I want to let you know how impressed I was with both Howie [Roseman] and Jeffrey [Lurie] that allowed me to do this in a manner that my players would find out first hand and it wasn't going to be something they saw on a Twitter account or a local TV station. That part is extremely important to me. The game of football to me is about relationships. And the game of football is about people. And you win because you have great people. "I probably took a long time with this decision, probably a lot longer than some ... wanted me to take." C.J. Burns is a lead contributor for Buzz on Broad.
