Braylon Edwards is a popular topic among New York Jets observers, as he endeared himself to the faithful with his big plays, all-out effort and physical blocking on the edge. That kind of play also left an impression on Jets head coach Rex Ryan, who has lauded Braylon Edwards for living up to the motto, "Play Like A Jet." While there is still some whispering about a possible reunion with the Jets it seems like Braylon Edwards is headed elsewhere, with the Cincinnati Bengals at the top of the list of possible destinations.

The Cincinnati Enquirer has been hinting for months now that the Cincinnati Bengals have real interest in former New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards. He would certainly fit in nicely across the field from budding superstar A.J. Green and give young quarterback Andy Dalton a big target with some gas still left in the tank. When asked about Braylon Edwards signing with the Bengals, Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer made it more of a question of health.

While the Bengals seem to be a more likely destination, there are plenty who would love to see Braylon Edwards back with the Jets. It's a question of the active roster numbers game for the Jets, as Edwards would give them five wide receivers who won't be contributing on special teams coverage units. On a team likely to also carry a traditional fullback, that can make things dicey in terms of figuring out the 53-man roster. It would, however, give the Jets a pretty tough group of wide receivers to match up with as Edwards, Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Kerley, Stephen Hill and Chaz Schilens would bring a unique blend of size and speed.

It will also depend on Braylon Edwards. He would almost certainly be the second option in Cincinnati, a great chance to join a team on the rise and reclaim his past stardom. that could be more attractive than joining a crowded receiving corps with the Jets.

Either way, I think just about everybody wishes Braylon Edwards well as he recovers from his injury. We'll see where he lands and wherever he does go, that team will be getting a gem at a great price.
