Since when have your heard the sentence or phrase, “A must win game against the Browns” when it comes to the Baltimore Ravens.Unfortunately, that may really be the case this weekend.Already two weeks into the NFL season and the Ravens cannot afford to be 0-2 for the year, especially with the Broncos looking like the cream of the AFC crops and teams like Houston, Indianapolis and Cincinnati looking better and better each day. Even the Kansas City Chiefs look like a rejuvenated team these days. The Browns could not show they belonged in the upper echelon of the NFL last week, falling to the Dolphins on the road. Now, they must face a Ravens team that was overmatched last week. All of this points to a huge win for Baltimore at home and the night on which the team and the city celebrates their Super Bowl win.If I were the Browns, I would call in sick. Here are some bold predictions for this contest…Slowing down the scoringWhere to begin? John Harbaugh's team allowed the most points in ...

Is It Time To Worry About The Ravens Defense?

In the week leading up to the Broncos Ravens rematch, the focus was on the Broncos changed defense.  The Broncos lost Elvis Dumervil in an off-season signing to the Ravens, Champ Bailey was out due to injury, and Von Miller was suspended.  All true, but I kept wondering why no one was mentioning the changed Ravens defense. Didn’t anyone notice that the Ravens lost...

Baltimore Ravens: The struggling secondary

Baltimore Ravens defensive unit (Photo credit: Evan Habeeb/USA TODAY Sports) The Baltimore Ravens did not start the 2013 NFL season as planned, with a majority of the problems being on the defensive end. Since the team’s debut in 1996, the Ravens have been known for a dynamic defense with great pass coverage and an unbeatable front seven. But the season opener in Denver proved...

Cleveland Browns Film Room: Game 1, What the heck happened? Part 2

For the third consecutive year, we’ll take a seat each week in our very own WFNY Browns film room and break down a little tape from the game, with a specific focus.  Do enjoy. If you missed part 1 of this week’s film room, go back and read it. It’s sort of a prerequisite. So in part 2 we are going to look at what the Browns did to try and help Mitchell Schwartz against Cameron...

Baltimore Ravens take on division rival in Week 2

The Baltimore Ravens have had a great deal of success against the Cleveland Browns, winning the last ten games against their divisional opponent. But that does not mean that Sunday’s matchup is a definite win for the Ravens. Here’s a look at how the Ravens and the Browns match up. Receivers Joe Flacco (Photo credit: Jack Dempsey/AP Photo) Joe Flacco is looking to connect better...

LB Paul Kruger has a score to settle against Baltimore: 'I'd rather make a statement by what I'm doing'

There is nothing like a player who faces his former team, and for LB Paul Kruger that is the scenarion this weekend. After helping the Ravens win their second Super Bowl, the team let him walk in free agency, leaving him to look for a new home. However, after a spectatcular 2012 season, Kruger was one of the hottest players on the market, and the Browns who have seen him up close...

Browns’ Week 2 Injury Report: Barkevious Mingo, T.J. Ward, Buster Skrine

Browns at Ravens preview--- it could get ugly...

These two teams have traditionally played hard-fought games. I don't think it has anything to do with the genesis of the Ravens, who are essentially Cleveland's old franchise, since the players on the field have little or no memory of how that old deal went down. It does, however, have a lot to do with the divisional rivalry...and Cleveland has to prove it can beat Baltimore...

Trent Richardson shocked he didn’t play more on third down

The Cleveland Browns don’t have too many standouts on offense, but Trent Richardson is one of their best weapons. Richardson rushed for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns last season, and he caught 51 passes for 367 yards and a touchdown. Richardson is fast, super strong and a good receiver. You would think all of those […]

Canty on Suh penalty: “Offensive linemen do it to defensive linemen all the time”

It sounds like Giants DL is feeling some of Ndamukong Suh’s frustration. He isn’t defending Suh but there is definitely some contempt being held against the legality of low blocks for offensive players. “I think it was dirty,” Canty said. “I have to say this though: I understand his frustration because offensive linemen do it to defensive linemen all the time. But you just...

Browns' Kruger eager for homecoming with Ravens

Browns linebacker Paul Kruger wants to show the Baltimore Ravens what they're missing. Kruger, who signed a five-year, $40 million free agent contract with Cleveland in March, will face his former teammates for the first time Sunday. For Kruger, winning the Super Bowl was an unforgettable experience, but one partly tarnished because he wasn't on the field as much as he expected...

Colorado Weed Dispensary is Selling That Peyton Manning (Photo)

A lot of athletes feel that they’ve made it when they finally hear their name mentioned in a hip hop song. What happens when you get a form of cannibis named after you.  Yea we make joke about Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden and smoking on that Weeden, but he’s not official. Peyton Manning is. Next Impulse Sports via Peter Burns is reporting that a Colorado marijuana dispensary...

Mingo Cleared, Ready To Go

After missing the season opener at home against the Miami Dolphins, Browns' first-round pick Barkevious Mingo was cleared to play in the team's second game at Baltimore on Sunday.
