Cleveland Browns make a head-scratching signing following rookie minicamp

With the signing, the Browns now have a whopping five quarterbacks on their 90-man roster. Cleveland has Deshaun Watson, Jamies Winston, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Tyler Huntley, and now Sirmon under contract.

It is known that Watson is the starter, the Browns have many guaranteed reasons why that is happening. Winston is the backup and DTR and Huntley seemed poised to battle for the third spot on the roster. Watson and DTR are both working their way back from injuries, which must be noted  

Sirmon spent 2019 and 2020 at Washington where he attempted just five passes. In 2021, Sirmon played in five games for Central Michigan and had 734 passing yards to six touchdowns and four interceptions.

Then in 2022 and 2023, Sirmon transferred to Northern Colorado where he held an 11-9 touchdown to interception ratio in 14 games over two seasons.

The 6-foot-5 quarterback was the only player at his position during rookie minicamp for the Browns. With five players now at quarterback, it raises the question of if a cut is coming at the position.
