Colin Kaepernick is holed up with his 49ers teammates trying to figure out how to beat the Baltimore Ravens. Meanwhile, his birth mom is screaming "Hey! Look at me!" She gave an interview to a TV station in Denver. If getting ready for the Super Bowl isn't distraction enough, here comes crazy.Heidi Russo is her name. (Seriously, I wonder if Mad Dog looked her up first?). She had Colin when she was only 19 years old, and gave him up for adoption to the Kaepernick family, who also lived in Milwaukee where she lived at the time. And now young Colin is quarterbacking one of the all-time storied NFL franchises, and you think now is the time to say, "Hey, Colin. I'll be thinking about you!" Seriously. She said:“Don’t get me wrong, I am not ‘coming out’ to share in any of the success Colin is having, I just want him to know I never stopped thinking about him ... For my family, we will just be cheering for Colin just as loud as the Kaepernicks will be, come Super Bowl.”I remember watching Kaepernick at Nevada. I was high on him then, and was surprised the 49ers took him when I thought he could be a starter. Well, now he is, and mama wants some attention, too. Dear Heidi, go crawl back into your hole that you came out of. I'm not calling you a bad person for giving up Colin, but you don't wait until the biggest game of your son's career to date to say you're thinking about him. Don't be a tool.
