Last NFL season, one of the silliest manufactured controversies in sports occurred when David Whitley of the Sporting News wrote a column criticizing San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick for his tattoos. The notion that Kaepernick couldn't be trusted because he didn't look like Sammy Baugh proved to be even more absurd when CK7 led the 49ers to the Super Bowl.
While that fauxtroversy seems like ages ago, it's all the more ironic now considering less than a year later Kaepernick and his tattoos are prominently featured in an ad for Yahoo's fantasy football. There is just one other thing that may be cause for some alarm when watching this spot though...
Good grief! I've seen more personality and better delivery in a Bill Belichick press conference! Did someone not tell him it might be a good idea to change his voice inflection at least once? Kaepernick is a star in this league already (some of the top online betting action sites have him at 10/1 to be MVP this season) and I'm sure he's on his way to many more advertising opportunities, but he's got a loooong way to go until he's as good hawking products as he is running the read option.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, 49ers rookie safety Eric Reid has been solid so far and and is the “front runner” to start at safety.
“Eric’s a smart player,” 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said. “He’s diligent. The game’s not too big for him. He’s just going through the normal growing pains of a rookie, learning the system, learning the NFL...

After a devastating loss in Super Bowl XLVII, the San Francisco 49ers have to pick up the pieces this preseason. A lot of Super Bowl losers decline in the season following, but this is the 49ers we’re talking about.
They will bounce back, but they still have a few parts of their roster that have questions remaining. That’s why I’ve found five players this preseason you should...
Nnamdi Asomugha has a beautiful actress for a wife, some money in the bank account, and several philanthropic ventures going on off the field.
Asomugha might want to make arrangements to be doing something else this NFL season.
Even with the loss of cornerback Chris Culliver for the season, there still was no guarantee that Asomugha would make the 49ers final roster.

According to Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee, San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh stated Sunday that the team is "assessing" Wright, after a failed physical voided a trade to San Francisco; he was waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last month.
While the 49ers offense is going to be a highly powerful, highly functioning machine in the running and passing game, the majority of their individual players aren’t really great fantasy bets. The San Francisco 49ers are going to try and spread the football, distributing it to several players, and have several weapons and options on the offensive side of the ball. This means...

Day 9 of the San Francisco's 49ers training camp was highlighted by the return of a number of key players and Tramaine Brock, who continues to have a good camp as hopes to become the replacement for Chris Culliver.
The 49ers had a late-afternoon practice Friday that saw another key veteran take the day off. But it was a busy day for Trent Baalke and the front office as they signed veteran receivers Austin Collie and Lavelle Hawkins, who made their practice debut with their new team.
The beginning of August signals the undeniably awesome fact that football is right around the corner. While there’s only one small way the 49ers can improve on last season’s outcome, there likely is a way that you can improve on the outcome of your fantasy football season.
I for one consider myself a major homer when it comes to fantasy sports. My current fantasy baseball lineup...
