Bounce It Off Phil B.:
The Manning brothers were pretty good in interviews today -- I actually can't decide which one was better -- but we'll get to them in a moment.
In case anyone hasn't heard, S Bob Sanders had surgery today to repair a torn right biceps tendon, the Colts announced in a release this afternoon. His timetable to return is undetermined and, for now, he stays on the 53-man roster.
This means the team will take a wait-and-see approach about putting him on injured reserve. We expected him to end up there, and he still might, but if he can come back toward the end of the season and make a contribution, I guess it's worth a shot. That's what happened the year the Colts won the Super Bowl. That was Sanders' finest hour, in my opinion, during that playoff run.
I know some folks will say it's not worth taking another chance and I get that. He could come back and last one quarter again and how did that help? But the Colts have spent so much on the guy, it makes sense...
