A day after the Redskins got No. 2 overall selection Robert Griffin III under contract, the Colts predictably have done the same with their own franchise quarterback.
According to beat writer Mike Chappell, Andrew Luck agreed to a fully-guaranteed four-year, $22 million deal with Indianapolis, which includes a $14.5 million signing bonus and fifth-year option. Thanks to the rookie pay system, the pact is nearly identical to that of last year's top overall pick, Cam Newton.
The move ensures Luck will be able to jump right in during training camp next week, getting to work on mastering the team's new-look offense.
With Luck and RG3 out of the way, effectively creating a jumping-off point, expect a flurry of deals to get done within the coming days, as teams scramble to lock up their first-round picks in advance of camp.
