Despite a slow start, the Indianapolis Colts were still plenty good enough against winless Jacksonville. Andrew Luck threw two touchdown passes, Trent Richardson ran for a score and the Colts became the latest to beat the Jaguars by double digits, 37-3 Sunday. The Colts (3-1) were a little sluggish and sloppy in the first half, but that did little to slow them down against one of the worst teams in the league. Indianapolis led 20-3 at halftime -- Jacksonville (0-4) has been outscored 75-8 in the first half this season -- and made it a laugher with consecutive touchdown drives in the third quarter. Luck found Coby Fleener for a 31-yard score, a play in which even Fleener was surprised he was so wide open, and then connected with Reggie Wayne in the back of the end zone from 5 yards. That made it 34-3 and sent many of the Jaguars faithful heading to the exits. The Colts had outgained the Jaguars 363-70 at that point. Luck completed 22 of 35 passes for 260 yards, with two TDs and an interception. Wayne finished with five catches for 100 yards. Richardson ran 20 times for 60 yards. Fleener caught five passes for 77 yards. Blaine Gabbert completed 17 of 32 passes for 179 yards, with three interceptions. All of them bounced off his receivers' hands. Maurice Jones-Drew ran 13 times for 23 yards. The Jaguars looked as pitiful as they have all season. Cecil Shorts III bobbled two passes that wound up as interceptions for Gabbert, who was returning after missing the past two games with a hand injury. Tight end Marcedes Lewis made his season debut, but ended up back in street clothes after just a few plays. Lewis re-injured his left calf, which kept him sidelined most of the preseason and the first three games. Defensive end Jason Babin was flagged three times, including once for a late hit on Luck. He also was called for offside, negating an interception in the first quarter. And just when things seemed as if they couldn't get any worse for Jacksonville, an apparent fumble recovery was overturned because of an inadvertent whistle. The play was deemed a do-over. The Jaguars would like to get one of those for the entire season. Jacksonville is 0-4 for the third time in franchise history. The team has never started 0-5. And the questions about free agent quarterback Tim Tebow continue. A plane flew over the stadium carrying a banner that read "Tebow, why not?" The Colts looked a little lethargic to begin the game, with Luck missing open receivers all over the field. But they used two big plays to jump-start the lopsided victory. Shorts failed to catch a pass near the sideline. Cornerback Vontae Davis got his hands on the deflection, which teammate Darius Butler caught and returned 41 yards for a score and a 10-3 lead. Indy got the ball back after a three-and-out, and Donald Brown ripped off a 50-yard run. Brown ran untouched through a huge hole and then squeezed through rookie safeties Josh Evans and Johnathan Cyprien for another 30 yards. Mike Harris saved a touchdown, but Richardson scored three plays later to make it 17-3. Jacksonville did nothing to cut into the huge lead. The Jaguars have lost 12 of their past 19 games by double digits -- 11 of those by 16 or more points.

Werner was injured early on in the first quarter...

Trent Richardson yet to show up for Colts

When Trent Richardson was brought in by the Indianapolis Colts there was no doubt in any mind that Ahmad Bradshaw would shuffle off to the sidelines. Hard to believe it, but right now the Cleveland Browns look like they made the better decision trading away the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Obviously time will tell who actually got the better of the deal, but Richardson...

Indianapolis Colts proving themselves

When you want to be considered among one of the best in the league you have to win games you’re supposed to. Now, it wasn’t always pretty but the Indianapolis Colts did just that by beating the Jacksonville Jaguars this afternoon, 37-3. Trent Richardson needs time to adjust to the Colts offense and trust his instincts (Photo credit: Michael Conroy/AP) This isn’t a recap of...

Trent Richardson Fails To Impress vs. Jaguars

Colts running back Trent Richardson saw 20 carries with Ahmad Bradshaw out of action Sunday against the Jaguars, but he accounted for 60 rushing yards.Fantasy Spin:Richardson did get in the end zone from one yard out, but he still isn't making any big plays on the ground. Believe it or not, the 60 yards represents a season high for T-Rich.

Colts probably regret trading Caesar Rayford, Werner out several weeks

Today the Indianapolis Colts found out that they will lose former Florida State OLB Bjoern Werner for up to 6 weeks with a torn plantar fascia. The 24th pick in April’s draft, Werner managed a half-sack and five tackles in Indy’s first four games. He suffered the injury in Sunday’s Week 4 win over the […]

Colts shuffle O-line to replace injured C Satele

The Indianapolis Colts will be without starting center Samson Satele against Jacksonville. Satele had been listed as probable with an elbow injury. But he was one of the team's seven inactives for Sunday's game. Guard Mike McGlynn will start at center, and backup guard Jeff Linkenbach will move into the starting lineup. Receiver Griff Whalen, offensive tackle Xavier Nixon...

5 things to know about Colts' 37-3 win at Jaguars

The Indianapolis Colts are proving to be multidimensional. A week after stunning San Francisco with a power-running scheme, the Colts embarrassed Jacksonville with a finesse passing attack. And they played stout defense in both victories. Andrew Luck threw two touchdown passes, Trent Richardson ran for a score and the Colts became the latest to beat the Jaguars by double digits...

Report: Colts Lose First-Round Pick Bjoern Werner For 4-6 Weeks

Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star reports that Colts first-round pick OLB Bjoern Werner has sustained a plantar fascia tear during Sunday’s win over Jacksonville. Werner hasn’t been outstanding in his first few NFL games, but he has at least shown some ability, so adjustments will need to be made in his absence. Pro Football Focus has Werner rated as the No. 32 3-4 outside...

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Despite a slow start, the Indianapolis Colts were still plenty good enough against winless Jacksonville. Gazillionaire Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was not exactly impressed with the food offered in Jacksonville - a wet-noodle-looking hot dog.

T.Y. Hilton is Active

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton will play Sunday against the Jaguars.Fantasy Spin:Hilton is dealing with a toe injury and was in a walking boot earlier this week, but he's active. Start him as a WR3 against the lowly Jags.

Colts week three: Finally…a relaxing Sunday!

I wouldn’t say I was worried about the Jaguars. But, then again…maybe I was. I’ve just seen too many games where the Colts head down to Jacksonville the easy favorites…only to leave covered in Maurice Jones Drew’s footprints. And speaking of MJD…where was he? The Colts defense all but erased the Jaguars’ best offensive weapon (aside from kicker Josh Scobee). And forced...

Colts Run, Pass Through Jags: 5 Things We Learned From Sunday

Did you really expect anything different? Did you expect Blaine Gabbert to come in and steal the show, light up the scoreboard and the Jaguars actually win a football game, did you? Seriously?OK, I did at least think this would be a more closely contested game than it was. While there appeared to be more pressure on the quarterback by the defensive line and receivers and penalties...

Buffalo Bills at Cleveland Browns: 2013 Week 5 NFL Pick

Buffalo Bills (2-2) at Cleveland Browns (2-2) The Browns have somehow vaulted to the top of the AFC North two weeks after losing Brandon Weeden to injury and trading Trent Richardson to the Colts. While it’s not a surprise that they wouldn’t miss Brandon Weeden that much, I don’t think anyone was expecting Brian Hoyer to play well enough to mask the loss of Trent Richardson...
