The Indianapolis Colts have signed defensive tackle Fili Moala to an undisclosed contract extension.
Moala could have become an unrestricted free agent next week. The team confirmed the deal, but did not release terms.
It's the second personnel move the Colts have made in less than a week. On Friday, the Colts used the franchise tag on punter Pat McAfee.
Moala was Indy's second-round draft pick in 2009 and has 86 tackles and two sacks in 48 career games. He also scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery. Last season, Moala had 21 tackles and made eight starts before going down with a season-ending knee injury.
Before the moves with McAfee and Moala, Indy was projected to have more than $40 million to spend in free agency.

Colts Re-Sign DE Fili Moala To One-Year Deal
Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star is reporting that the Colts will bring back defensive end Fili Moala, signing him to a one-year deal today. Moala ended the 2012 season on injured reserve with an ACL and the former USC standout had just 14 combined tackles on the season with no sacks.

A little Luck over Flacco
The question on everyone’s mind right now (except in Baltimore ), is Joe Flacco worth the contract? Going through the list of quarterbacks currently, I can think of a handful of quarterbacks I would pay more than Flacco. This list includes guys like: Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Newton, RGIII, and Andrew...

Jim Irsay Claims He Would Have Done A Better Job Protecting RGIII
Anytime multiple franchise quarterbacks come out of the same draft class, it’s assured they will be painstakingly compared to one another for the duration of their NFL careers. Naturally, 2012 was one of those bountiful QB draft classes, giving us Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson, as well as several other, less exciting starters. Among those, RGIII and Luck will...
Catching Up With Sergio Brown - The Only Two-Time Subway Domer People's Champ
I recently caught up with former Notre Dame and current Indianapolis Colts safety Sergio Brown. The past 13 months have been a bit of a roller coaster for Brown. After starting for parts of 2011 and playing for the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI last February, he was surprisingly one of New England's final 2012 August roster cuts. The two-year vet was quickly snatched by Indianapolis...
