Found May 25, 2012 on The Football Fan Spot:
Mike Jenkins lost his starting job with the Cowboys this offseason after they brought in Brandon Carr in free agency, giving him a massive contract, and Morris Claiborne in the draft, trading away a 2nd round pick to move up 8 spots to grab him 6th overall. Jenkins was not happy about this and asked to be traded, but the Cowboys are refusing to do so. Still, the Indianapolis Colts are trying to acquire him. Needing a veteran cornerback as they are slated to start Jerraud Powers and Kevin Thomas this season, the Colts have made the Cowboys several offers for Jenkins, all of which the Cowboys have declined, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Colts ranked 26th against the pass last season, allowing 7.8 YPA, and could rank in a similar spot this season unless they get some help. It’s unclear if Jenkins is that help, however. Yes, he’s a former Pro Bowler, but there’s a reason he lost his starting job and is currently the Cowboys’ #4 cornerback. Since his 2009 Pro Bowl season, Jenkin...

Elder – Mike Jenkins is Stuck

One of the juicier storylines surrounding OTAs this year is the standoff between the Cowboys and disgruntled CB Mike Jenkins. Jenkins, a 2008 1st Round pick, is unhappy with the organization because of the recent additions of CBs Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne. Both of these players are expected to be starters, and Orlando Scandrick [...]

Colts making a run for Cowboys’ Mike Jenkins

Earlier today, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Colts are in heavy pursuit of acquiring Cornerback Mike Jenkins of the Cowboys. The Cowboys said last week that they do not intend on trading Jenkins, as they say you can never have enough good corners, and they view Jenkins as such. After going out to grab Brandon Carr in free agency and moving up in the draft to select LSU’s...

Report: Colts attempting to trade for Dallas CB MIke Jenkins

ESPN's Adam Schefter (not Adarn Schefter, we checked) is reporting that the Indianapolis Colts are attempting to acquire Dallas CB Mike Jenkins. Jenkins, a 2008 1st-round draft pick by the Cowboys, reportedly became available after Dallas traded up to draft LSU CB Morris Claiborne. Check back with Colts Authority for updates as the story develops, and fir analysis on the trade...

Jerry Jones should shutter all this 'window' talk

IRVING, Texas Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says he feels the "window closing" on his team making a run at the Super Bowl. But it seems like a window has to open at some point before it can begin to close. Other than Wade Phillips' 2007 campaign with a lot of Bill Parcells carryovers, it's been years since the Cowboys could reasonably expect to make noise in...

Tony Romo doesn’t believe the Cowboys’ window is closing

Getty Images Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo doesn’t agree with owner Jerry Jones that their window to win a Super Bowl is closing.   “It’s not closing,” said Romo, per “I think there’s a sense of urgency every year that you play, whether it’s your first year in the league or your 22nd. You never know when all that stuff is going to happen, so...

Cowboys’ Dez Bryant was never 100% in 2011

Former 1st round pick Dez Bryant had somewhat of a breakout season in 2011 with 63 catches for 928 yards and 9 touchdowns. However, according to him, he was never healthy all last season, despite only missing 1 game. While players often admit this and it’s not uncommon (no one is ever really 100%), it’s all the more reason to expect a huge season from Bryant in 2012. The Cowboys...

Dallas Cowboys Will Not Trade Mike Jenkins According to Jason Garrett

The Dallas Cowboys will not trade disgruntled corner back Mike Jenkins, that according to head coach Jason Garrett, who believes that Jenkins can still play a key role in 2012 when he decides to show up to camp. “Mike Jenkins, we believe, is a big part of our football team, right now,” Garrett said. “And he’s making a business decision not to be here. But we’re not going...

Jerry Jones Should “Urgently” Get Out of the Way

Jerry needs to learn the difference between "moving in the right direction" and "urgently need to win right now." (Photo credit: Wikipedia) When a team talks about a window of opportunity, it is usually in the context of a team that has fallen short in the playoffs. For instance, the Baltimore Ravens might talk about their window of opportunity after reaching...

Cowboys might wait until training camp to trade Mike Jenkins

Getty Images According to ESPN’s John Clayton, the Dallas Cowboys may wait until training camp to trade cornerback Mike Jenkins, if they’re willing to make a deal. “If they’re going to deal him, they’re going to deal him during training camp,” said Clayton per Evan Silva. In the end, I really don’t think the Cowboys will trade Jenkins, unless a team is willing to make...

Jon Kitna is now a high school math teacher

While browsing I came across this story about Jon Kitna becoming a high school math teacher. First I think its an amazing story. I can’t speak about Kitna’s post career finances, but I am greatly proud to see a guy who did not allow the NFL to define him, and who actually had a plan after football. I struggle to understand why so many college educated former NFL...
