ALLEN PARK, Mich. Former NFL players are piling on when it comes to lawsuits against the league for the head injuries they sustained during the course of their careers. Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola doesnt plan to be part of that litigation one day. When Im at home in my rocking chair at 40, I dont think Im going to be thinking about suing the NFL, Raiola, 33, said Tuesday following one of the teams off-season workouts. I dont know if I can justify suing the league when Im done because its given me 11 years of fun. Thats their prerogative (to sue). Thats how theyre handling it. I think when you sign up for this job, you know what youre getting into. Granted, the moneys a lot more now. At the same time, youre going to get dinged up. Raiola said he accepts any potential side effects he encounters down the road. Whether its short-term memory loss, those are all the rigors of this job, he said. Thats why its not for everybody. It takes a unique individual to play this. I ha...

With that in mind, Raiola told the Detroit Free Press that he would never sue the league for any injury incurred because it is "common knowledge" that it's just part of the game. "It's worth it. It's totally worth it," Raiola told the newspaper on Tuesday. "This...

Nate Burleson thinks ‘Megatron’ can break Madden curse

You don’t have to be a hardcore gamer to know of the dreaded Madden curse, which, coincidentally or not, has led to disappointing seasons for many of the stars that have graced the cover of EA Sports’ pride and joy. Whether or not you buy in to the fable is immaterial; the guys who, you know, actually step out onto the field on Sundays feel the jinx is alive and well. Take for...

Newton battles Johnson for Madden cover

The race to grace the cover of "Madden 13" has been narrowed down to two of the NFL's brightest stars in Cam Newton and Calvin Johnson. According to CBS Sports writer Jeff Reynolds, the Lions will not defy logic and will address the position that fills their greatest need; defensive back. But does Schwartz and the draft team have a particular...
