The Dallas Cowboys have added another coach to their defensive staff. After adding Monte Kiffin as their new defensive coordinator the Cowboys have added Rod Marinelli to be their defensive line coach.
Marinelli served as the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears last season. Under Marinelli the Bears were a top-five defense and ranked first or second in many defensive statistics. Marinelli and Kiffin will install a four man front to the Cowboys defense.
New Bears coach Marc Trestman had hoped to retain Marinelli as the teams defensive coordinator. Marinelli, however, was upset that the Bears parted ways with longtime friend Lovie Smith and opted out of the last year of his contract.
