Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent was indicted Wednesday by a Dallas County grand jury for intoxication manslaughter. Brent, 24, was behind the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz on Dec. 8 when it hit a curb and flipped in Irving, Texas, killing Cowboys teammate Jerry Brown Jr., a member of the practice squad. Brent was accused of drunken driving. The Dallas County District Attorney's office had no comment on the indictment, The Dallas Morning News reported. Brent is free on bail, which was reduced from $500,000 after the accident to $100,000. He has not played since the crash but remains with the team. His presence on the sideline for a Cowboys game caused a stir several weeks ago. The maximum sentence for intoxication manslaughter is 20 years in prison, but Brent could be eligible for probation. No trail date was set.
