IRVING, Texas Cornerback Brandon Carr didn't sound like a shattered man despite being an up-close witness to the Lions' Calvin Johnson torching of the Cowboys for 14 catches and 329 yards Sunday. "It definitely hasn't shaken my confidence," Carr said Monday. "It might have boosted it. That might sound crazy, but I learn from games like that. It's just time to move on and get ready to go again." Carr had the primary assignment on Johnson in the 31-30 loss, but was surprised when a reporter suggested that he might be down after allowing a receiver to have such a huge day. "You know what I've been through to get here?" Carr said. "Just from childhood until now, I've been through so much, so many obstacles, struggles, things thrown at me, people saying I couldn't do this, couldn't do that. I just get up each and every day, put my shoes on and go to work." The long day at Detroit's Ford Field was probably more painful because Carr is from Flint, Michigan and played collegiately at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan. "I knew I had a big challenge yesterday and I was ready for it," Carr said. "I'm always up for these challenges, that's what you play for. I learned a lot from myself within that game, some things I could have done differently, some things I was proud of myself for doing. But at the end of the day I stood in there and I fought, that's all you can ask for." Carr said his main concern was that the Cowboys didn't put away an opponent when they had a chance to do so. After winning back-to-back games before playing Detroit, the Cowboys are now 4-4 halfway through the regular season. "We can't afford to keep having ups and downs like this," Carr said. "We had some good momentum going and we lost it. At the same time, that's just one game and you have another game this week. Sundays come fast in this league."
