I will be the first to admit that the New York Giants’ and Dallas Cowboys’ obsession with their rivalry is semi-annoying, but at least it takes the attention off Tim Tebow and the soon-to-be 7-9 Jets for awhile. There are two teams in New Jersey York, and it’s about time the media remembered. Plenty of guys from each squad have stoked the fire leading up to Wednesday night’s season opener, the most recent being the Cowboys biggest free-agent acquisition. Apparently, corner Brandon Carr is “tired” of the Giants:

“The Giants have had great success, winning two Super Bowls in five years, and I think guys are kind of getting tired of seeing that. Now it’s to the point guys are getting fed up. It’s pretty much the attitude, ‘When is it going to be our time?’ ”

Eli has gotten the best of Romo recently.

That’s an excellent question, Mr. Carr, considering the Cowboys are just 2-7 against the Giants since January ’08. I’d be tired of the Giants too if they continually dominated me and swept me out of playoff contention last season. However, both Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and unfairly ridiculed quarterback Tony Romo share a sentiment of excitement heading into Wednesday’s showdown.

“I got pumped up the second I found out our schedule and heard they were our first game,” Romo said.

A week one win over the Giants would go a long way for Dallas, as they have routinely underachieved even having a good amount of talent, especially on offense. Tony Romo desperately needs a clutch performance and signature win over Big Blue to start the season off on the right foot. Some seem to think Romo’s window is closing in terms of getting to and winning a Super Bowl, so beating the G-Men would go a long way in seeing how good the Cowboys can really be.
